What is a Wish?

A wish is a child's answer to the question, If you could have anything in the world, go anywhere, be anything, or meet anyone in the world ... what would you choose?  What would you do?

Refer a Child

After returning from his incredible wish to go to a New York Knicks game with his family, Jacob wrote to us, “Thank you for making this wish trip the best wish trip ever for me and my family. We had so much fun in New York!”
Berkley recalls, “I screamed as loud as I could, and danced and jumped up and down from the moment he got on that stage to the moment he got off! I forgot all about my pain for that whole night and that's something that no medication has been able to accomplish for the last 2+ years.”
Annalise, four, Pelizaeus-Merzbacker Disease, had her wish came true in a day thanks to support from IKEA Etobicoke and their volunteer team.
“There are no words that could express how much our wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort meant to our family,” says wish child Brandon’s family.
Stephen's Mom tells us, “He was at those drums as soon as you left and Al & I couldn't believe how quick he was picking up playing them...Thanks again for helping make his wish come true!  The smile on his face is priceless.”
Reese, who lives with Vanishing White Matter Disease, aspires to be a princess because, "They are beautiful and I want to be one too!"
Kayla, six, Beta Thalassemia, wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida...and the wish trip far exceeded her wildest dreams!
“We had SUCH a great time.  We were truly spoiled in all ways, and it was absolutely a trip of a lifetime for us, and for my Joleen.  She and her sister still talk about the trip,” says Joleen’s mom.
Andie, five, Blackfan Diamond Anemia was very excited to be Make-A-Wish® Southwestern Ontario's 1,000th wish child!
“Emotionally, this trip helped me so much,” Megan told her volunteer wish grantor. “Disney is my lifeline; it gets me through all the bad days. This trip not only gave me a dream experience but it lifted my spirits!”
Jack’s Mom says, “Words truly cannot express how grateful Rob and I are that Jack was given this gift-of-a-lifetime wish trip!…I was truly humbled by the experience..."

Peter expresses his appreciation to Make-A-Wish and Sony Canada Charitable Foundation, “All of these items will definitely help me keep my mind off of stressful things and help me have a fun time.”  
Wish child Tyson's mom tells us, "As we watch our children have the time of their lives, we shed tears of joy and tears of sadness.  Joy because our kids are just so so so happy.  And sadness because our week is coming to a close, and we wish every week of their lives could be like this one magical week.”
“The Make-A-Wish® trip was more than I could have ever hoped for. Every day my family and I always did something new and exciting,” recounts Brandon.
Olivia does things big. Her first airplane ride, first trip out of Ontario and first BIG rollercoaster ride were all part of her wish to go with her family to Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida!
